Directed by Jamie Lloyd, the new production of William Shakespeare's The Tempest is part of a season of work heading into the West End from the end of the year.

Sigourney Weaver (The Constant Wife, Shubert Theater) as Prospero is joined by Jude Akuwudike (Kyoto, Royal Shakespeare Company) as Alonso, Jason Barnett (The Seagull, Harold Pinter Theatre) as Stephano, Selina Cadell (A Monster Calls, The Old Vic & Bristol Old Vic) as Gonzalo, Mathew Horne (The Pride, Trafalgar Studios & UK Tour) as Trinculo, Mara Huf (The Effect, National Theatre) as Miranda, Forbes Masson (Farm Hall, Theatre Royal Haymarket) as Caliban, Mason Alexander Park (Cabaret, Kit Kat Club London) as Ariel, James Phoon (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Palace Theatre as Ferdinand, Oliver Ryan (Richard III, Liverpool Playhouse & The Rose Kingston) as Sebastian and Tim Steed (Ink, Almeida & Duke of York’s Theatre) as Antonio.
The Tempest is a story about Prospero, a powerful magician and the rightful Duke of Milan, who uses his magic to control a remote island and orchestrate events that bring his enemies to him. The play takes on a mix of betrayal, revenge, and forgiveness.
The Tempest will run at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane from 7 December 2024 - 1 February 2025. It will be followed by Much Ado About Nothing starring Tom Hiddleston (Benedick) and Hayley Atwell (Beatrice). It will run from 10 February - 5 April 2025.
