Further casting has been announced for The Seagull.
Joining the previously announced Cate Blanchett as Arkadina and Tom Burke (The Deep Blue Sea) as Trigorin are Priyanga Burford (An Enemy of the People, Duke of York's Theatre) as Polina, Emma Corrin (Anna X, Harold Pinter Theatre), Zachary Hart (The Constituent, The Old Vic) as Medvedenko, Paul Higgins (Romeo and Juliet) as Shamrayev, Tanya Reynolds (A Mirror, Almeida Theatre and Trafalgar Theatre) as Masha, Kodi Smit-McPhee makes his professional stage debut as Konstantin, and Jason Watkins (Frozen, Theatre Royal Drury Lane) as Sorin.
Completing the creative team are Magda Willi (Set Design), Marg Horwell (Costume Design), Tom Gibbons (Sound Design), and Jim Carnahan CSA & Liz Fraser CSA (Casting).
Heading to the Barbican Theatre, The Seagull is a play about the complex relationships between a group of artists and their search for meaning in life and love. It follows Arkadina a celebrated actress whose larger-than-life presence dominates the stage and her personal relationships. When she arrives at her family's country estate for the weekend, Arkadina finds herself up in a storm of conflicting desires. Chekhov's timeless story heads to London early next year.
