The Doctor Who and Broadchurch star will return to the stage for the first time in over a decade for a limited season in the West End this Autumn.
Jodie Whittaker
Jodie Whittaker will star in Zinnie Harris' acclaimed production of The Duchess at the Trafalgar Theatre from 5 October - 20 December.
Adapted from John Webster's 17th-century play The Duchess of Malfi, it follows the story of the Duchess who secretly marries her steward, Antonio, defying her controlling brothers, Ferdinand and the Cardinal. Driven by greed and a desire to control her wealth and autonomy, the brothers plot to destroy her leading to a series of tragic events marked by betrayal, madness and murder.
Focusing on themes of male rage, female resistance, and the dynamics of power and gender - The Duchess will be a hugely breathtaking production to witness this Autumn in the West End.
