Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre launches its 2025 season with the highly anticipated UK premiere of the musical comedy Shucked, running from 10 May. The lead cast for this production has already been announced, and further information is on its way.
In June, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Dream Ballets: A Triple Bill will follow, featuring award-winning choreographers Julia Cheng, Shelley Maxwell, and Kate Prince reimagining the iconic dream ballets from Allegro, Oklahoma!, and Carousel, with fresh arrangements by Simon Hale and live accompaniment from Sinfonia Smith Square.
From 28 June to 26 July, Tinuke Craig will direct a powerful stage adaptation of Malorie Blackman’s beloved novel Noughts & Crosses, adapted by Dominic Cooke.
The season continues with a major London revival of Lerner & Loewe’s Brigadoon from 2 August to 20 September. This fresh adaptation by acclaimed Scottish playwright Rona Munro, directed and choreographed by Drew McOnie, brings the enchanting Scottish Highlands to life. Danielle Fiamanya (Mandela) stars as Fiona, with Louis Gaunt (Bridgerton) as Tommy.
Heading back to the venue this summer following a successful run in 2024 is The Enormous Crocodile, a wickedly funny musical based on Roald Dahl's beloved story. The production features with book & lyrics by Suhayla El-Bushra, music by Ahmed Abdullahi Gallab and additional music and lyrics from Tom Brady. Developed and directed by Emily Lim, with co-direction and puppetry design by Toby Olié, the production for audiences aged 3+ and families will run from 15 August - 7 September 2025.
The season will also feature four Open Air Theatre Festivals, offering family, dance, and comedy takeover days, along with a week-long music event presented in partnership with Communion ONE to close the season. Further details will be revealed in the spring.
Full creative teams and casting for the productions are to be announced.
