JUST FOR ONE DAY announces cast for West End transfer

The new musical had a record-breaking world premiere at London's The Old Vic last year where it became the theatre's fastest-selling musical, ever!

The cast has been announced for Just For One Day.

The production will make its North American premiere at CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre in Toronto this month ahead of its highly anticipated West End run at the Shaftesbury Theatre this Spring. This year also marks 40 years since the unforgettable Live Aid concerts in London and Philadelphia.

Joining the previously announced Craige Els, who originated the role of Bob Geldof at The Old Vic, will be Kelly Agbowu (Disney's The Lion King) as Marsha, Julie Atherton (Just For One Day, The Old Vic), Jason Battersby (Heathers, @sohoplace & UK Tour) as David, Jordan Cambridge-Taylor (Why Am I So Single?, Garrick Theatre) as Stevie, Eloise Davies (The Creakers, Theatre Royal Plymouth and Southbank Centre) as Maria, James Hameed (Gaddafi: A Living Myth, London Coliseum) as Khalil, Fayth Ifil (The Children's Inquiry, Southwark Playhouse) as Jemma, Melissa Jacques (NOW That's What I Call A Musical, UK Tour) as Suzanne, Hope Kenna (Just For One Day, The Old Vic) as Young Suzanne, AJ Lewis (Just For One Day, The Old Vic) as Kai, Freddie Love (Just For One Day, The Old Vic), Tim Mahendran (Time Traveller's Wife, Apollo Theatre), Rhianne-Louise McCaulsky (Cruel Intentions The Musical, The Other Palace) as Amara, Jack Michael Stacey (Peter Pan Goes Wrong, UK Tour), Emily Ooi (Just For One Day, The Old Vic) as Ellie, Tamara Tare (Just For One Day, The Old Vic) as Alicia, Jake Small (Standing at the Sky's Edge, Sheffield Crucible/National Theatre) as John Kennedy and George Ure (Wicked) as Midge Ure.

They are joined by Sadie-Jean Shirley, Kerry Enright, Evan Fox Harrison, Esme Laudat, Eddie Mann, Jaye Marshall, Lukin Simmonds and Dyd Wynford.

Directed by Luke Sheppard, Just For One Day takes audiences behind the scenes of Live Aid in a whole new way. Jam-packed with hit songs by Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Who, U2, Queen and The Police; the musical showcases how these iconic artists made history at simultaneous concerts in the 80s.

The creative team includes Musical Supervision, Arrangements & Orchestration by Matthew Brind, Choreography by Ebony Molina, Set by Soutra Gilmour, Costume by Fay Fullerton, Lighting by Howard Hudson, Sound by Gareth Owen, Video & Projection by Andrzej Goulding and Casting by Stuart Burt CDG.

Just For One Day will play at Shaftesbury Theatre from 15 May 2025 - 10 January 2026.
