We're Going on a Bear Hunt in London
We’re Going On A Bear Hunt – Rowdy, interactive fun!
We’ve never met a child who doesn’t adore Michael Rosen’s lovely book, with its fab illustrations by Helen Oxenbury. It was a runaway best seller from the start and continues to delight generation after generation of youngsters. Now it’s on stage in London’s glittering West End.
The stage sets are amazing. The music is compelling. It’s noisy, huge fun and interactive too, a highly creative feast of top notch storytelling perfect for young children.
We’re Going On A Bear Hunt - The story
The premise is beautifully simple. Meet a very adventurous family. One day they decide to go on a bear hunt. The elder brother leads the way, taking his four younger siblings and the family dog on an journey to find a real, live bear.
Along the way they have to negotiate all sorts of thrilling obstacles: a deep, cold river, a huge field of super-sized giant grass, the muddiest and ooziest mud you can imagine, a scary forest and even a swirling snowstorm. At last they find a chilly, dark cave in which there really is a bear. They’re scared stiff, in the good kind of way all children love, and run back home as fast as they can. Along the way they have to get over the same obstacles, but in record time, getting faster and faster as the bear chases them every step of the way.
Safe in bed, the children and their dog vow to never, ever go bear hunting again. Expect splendidly catchy music, amazing effects and constant audience participation, with no holds barred. If your kids love making lots of lovely noise, they’ll get an enormous kick out of joining in.
Want to preview the fun with your children?
There’s a super singalong video here to get your kids in the mood beforehand, and you can buy the book in all good bookshops.

Absolutely BrillantMy husband and I took my two year old daughter to see the play and she enjoyed every moment. It was very interactive and pretty much all of the children in the audience were involved. Key point: the bear when he appeared was not scary and actually got a few giggles from the children. All seats are great, but if you can get seats in the Stalls that would be a bit better as the cast does a bit of walking around. The music was lovely and my daughter sings the Bear Hunt song now when we read the book to her. We went to see the show a second time - it was that great! The cast was also amazing! Thinking about going again in August and September before the show ends! Another point: purchase the bear ears for your children before the show, these sold out both days we went and there were some disappointed toddlers. Hope this was helpful - enjoy the show!

BrilliantMy 4 year old daughter loved this, very captivating. Recommend to sit in the stalls as you get sprayed with water and showered with snow. The kids loved this.

Exciting, entertaining and lots of funJust beware that you may get a bit wet if you are sitting in the stalls area. All good fun though and I didn't mind it but my daughter (3 years old) wasn't keen on getting wet

amazingIt was brilliant. Be prepared to get wet!!!!! Think adults should have been warned likely to get wet, especially when snowed in cas of allergies.

BRILLIANTMy 4 year old granddaughter smiled from beginning to end and laughed and giggled throughout. It was an extremely accurate copy of the storybook. She loved the 'mud, rain and snow', not sure I loved the rain and snow, We were on row B!!! Would have liked to have been warned somehow but guess it would have spoiled it for the children. If comes near us on tour would go again.

Great fun for young children!I liked the fact the show was a bit interactive with the "snow" and the water guns. We were in row "L" which was as good as being up front. The theatre is small so the views are good from just about anywhere.

Review: WE'RE GOING ON A BEAR HUNT
by Isabella James | Monday, July 9 2018, 09:00
Anyone that spends time with pre-schoolers will not only have heard of Michael Rosen’s classic We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, they will also almost certainly know every single descriptive, onomatopoetic word of that story.
