The Wizard Of Oz in London
There's no place like the West End for 2024, when the Wizard Of Oz takes over the Gillian Lynne Theatre for a spectacular run designed to delight.
The Wizard of Oz begins performances at the Gillian Lynne Theatre on 15 August, running until 8 September 2022, and the excitement is already mounting. What a venue, what a show, what a treat for the family!.
The cast features JLS star Aston Merrygold as The Tin Man and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner and Dancing on Ice finalist The Vivienne as The Wicked Witch of the West.
As the Producer Michael Harrison says, “The Wizard of Oz was seen by an incredible 185,000 people at the London Palladium last summer and is currently smashing box office records on its U.K. tour, so it feels absolutely appropriate that we return this spectacular production to the West End during the summer holidays for 38 performances only, with an incredible cast led by Aston Merrygold and The Vivienne.”
The show features the iconic original score from the Oscar-winning 1939 MGM movie starring Judy Garland, including the classic songs Over The Rainbow, Follow The Yellow Brick Road and We're Off To See The Wizard.
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice have added a load more songs to this spectacular production, predicted to be a magical experience whatever your age. You're going to love the Rice-Webber tune Bring Me the Broomstick!

A MUST MUST SEE!I never usually write reviews, but oh my did these exceed expectations and absolutely brilliant!! The actors were phenomenal and kept us entertained and engaged at all times. I must mention my seats, usually when booking last minute you don’t get good seats or either you do and they are mega expensive. I paid £50 for both me and my brother last minute which I thought was a bargain! Not only that seats were mentioned as being restrictive with view but they were yet again fab and I could see everything close up and nothing restricted my view in the slightest! All in all one of the best shows I have been to and I have been to a fair few theatre shows ?
