The Mad Ones – The story

Meet Samantha Brown, 18 years old, sitting in a second hand car with the keys in her hand. She's yearning for the unknown but bound by other people's expectations. Taking herself back to the time before her world fell apart, she relives her senior year at school.

Sam's best mate Kelly, who was killed in a car crash, was everything Sam is not: a rule breaking, impetuous, daring girl who thrived on the unexpected. Now Sam is faced with a decision. Will she follow her mother’s dreams or will she find her own way to happiness - and drive away from her friends and family into a new life she can't predict?

About The Mad Ones

This fabulous musical proved an instant viral hit on YouTube, originally called The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown. It opened off-Broadway in late 2017 and sold more than 15,000 pieces of sheet music before the rights became available in late 2019, always a sign there's a hit on the way. It attracted millions of YouTube views, inspired thousands of fan videos, and now it's finally on stage in London.

The Writers are Kait Kerrigan and Bree Lowdermilk, and the Director is Emily Susanne Lloyd. Creative Producer James Edge joins Producer Samantha Creswick, Musical Director Callum Thompson, Stage Manager/Lighting Designer Joanne Marshall and Set Designer Yimei Zhao to create musical magic. The artwork is by Tom Mann from Ghostlight Studios.
