The Band Musical in London
A gorgeous new story written by the Olivier Award winning writer Tim Firth is on the cards, and it's set to delight Take That fans from all around the world. The Band is a musical created for anyone who grew up loving a boy band. And it's jam packed with loads of the very best smash hit Take That tunes. What's not to like?
The story?
Roll back time to 1992 and you'll meet five sixteen year old girls for whom 'the band' was absolutely everything, the meaning of life. The girls were once completely inseparable. Now they're getting together again, after a quarter of a century, in their 40s, and this time they're determined to fulfil their dream and actually meet the boy band whose music was the soundtrack to their youth.
The Band showcases Take That, Britain’s most successful boy band of all time, including fabulous chart smash after chart smash: Never Forget, Back for Good, A Million Love Songs, Greatest Day, Relight My Fire, Shine, Rule the World and more. This is actually one of the world's most successful musical theatre tours... ever. And it's in the capital for a run of just fifty performances.
If there ever was a Christmas theatre thrill, this is it. Treat yourself, your loved ones, friends and family to one of the biggest, best theatreland nights out in 2018 / 2019 at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
Who is this show for?
Take That's music is ageless and timeless. Even if you've been living in outer space for the past two decades and wouldn't know Take That if they bit you, it's a fabulous feel good show for music lovers of every age.

Huge disappointmentA very weak and poor story line with irrelevant material and delivered by very harsh voices. The stage presentations detracted from the music. However, the boys did deliver the music well and was the show's only redeeming factor.

The band - A show you will Never ForgetThe music in The Band is cleverly worked around the characters and their story and it is beautifully interwoven. The story of 16 year old friends meeting again 25 years later and how their lives have changed from their teen plans, is something anyone can relate to. I laughed, sang and had tears running down my face. The 5 guys in the band sang and danced their hearts out, and the way they link into the production is very clever and works brilliantly. The show is completely immersive and for 2.5 hours the outside world ceased to exist. For me, that makes it perfect theatre and I would recommend it to anyone

AMAZINGIt captured the mood of Take That Era and now that music delights audiences of various ages Asa 75 year old grandmother i took my daughter and 4 grandchildren 23 21 15 14. The younger ones had not been to a show like this and got caught up in the energy and excitement. Good for all who love live theatre at its most entertaining. It had everything even the women were real shapes not stick thin. That was good for the young people to see that we do come in different shapes and sizes. A great treat.

s great show with a touching storyI simply love Take That, hence I wanted to see the show. The first 15 minutes I thought - alright I miss the real boys and it’s too much talking, but then the storyline turns into a very touching lifestory everyone can relate to it’s sad, it’s funny, it’s great music, it’s simply PERFECT! I had an amazing time with my friend & it was a brilliant Christmas gift ?

A definite show to go and see - music, acting was outstanding a show I will not forget,The show is lively, acting by everyone could not fault, storyline, although sad but showed how we can move on and still allow ourselves to remember the friendship we made and understand that we should enjoy every moment of life. I went with my daughter who was very much in that zone in 1993. Well written and directed. Loved it!

good fun but poignantAlthough I had already grown up before the TakeThat era, have been a fan since their reunion, but the story could relate to any group of friends from school. As I watched the show with 4 of my old school friends, found it very funny, happy and sad (at times).Music was great very energetic performance loved it, even with a 10 minute technical problem break. Also being upgraded to 4th row in stalls on arrival at theatre was a bonus.
