Pure Imagination Tickets

This charming musical event is directed by the Tony nominated genius Christopher Renshaw and takes to the stage for its world première at St. James Theatre, a popular fringe venue that has seen its fair share of off-West End hits. The show plays in the Main House and runs for four weeks, 24th September 2015 to 17th October 2015.

Leslie Bricusse is nothing if not prolific, author of more than a thousand songs and one of the best-loved musical theatre composers of our times. But he doesn't always write music alone. He's a sociable type, also creating legendary creative partnerships with people like Anthony Newley, Henry Mancini, John Williams and John Barry. And he also writes books and lyrics for musical theatre too, a genuine theatrical renaissance man.

A double Oscar and Grammy Award winner, Bricusse’s music represents the soundtrack of the last six decades and it has touched literally millions of us, perhaps tens or even hundreds of millions. And this wonderfully uplifting jukebox musical with a difference is jam packed with favourites: What Kind Of Fool Am I, If I Ruled The World, Talk To The Animals, Feeling Good, Goldfinger and a host more. What a treat!

The musical score Bricusse wrote for his first ever movie, Charley Moon, netted the composer his first Ivor Novello Award, and he never looked back. Altogether the great man has been nominated for 10 Oscars, four Tony awards and a whopping nine Grammys. He has won an astonishing eight Ivor Novello Awards and his first two plays, written while he was a college student, both transferred to the West End.

This is one serious talent, and we're privileged to be able to experience so much of his fantastic music on one night, in one place, performed to absolute perfection. Expect gorgeous songs from all sorts of movies and musicals including Pickwick, Harvey, The Good Old Bad Old Days, Goodbye Mr Chips, Scrooge, Sherlock Holmes, Jekyll and Hyde, Cyrano de Bergerac and, of course, It’s a Dog’s Life. Boy, are you in for a night to remember!
