Following five smash-hit Edinburgh Fringe seasons and a London run that wowed audiences and delighted critics, the multi award-winning comedy musical Police Cops returns to the Southwark Playhouse in Borough, where it’s on stage from 1st March to 20th April 2024.

Police Cops The Musical whisks us back to a time when jeans were far too tight, cars were far too big and driven far too fast, the haircuts were horrific and the facial hair had to be seen to be believed. This is the 1980s, we’re in the USA, and a pair of mismatched police cops are busy trying to investigate the nation’s baddest drug lord baddie of them all.

Written by the multi award winning comedy company POLICE COPS, there’s an original score by the Brit Award winner Ben Adams, who delighted us with Eugenius. The show contains more madness and more jokes than ever, billed as the ‘cleverest comedy musical in London’ and the perfect comedy antidote to the crazy world we live in.

The show stars the creators of Police Cops The Musical themselves: Zachary Hunt, Nathan Parkinson and Tom Roe. Together they’re a three-man multi award-winning London comedy company that’s has been creating highly physical, very entertaining and clever comedy since 2014, a darling of the Edinburgh Fringe.

The Story of Police Cops The Musical

The year is 1985 and the rookie cop Jimmy Johnson has joined the police to protect and serve. But he’s been teamed up with a renegade Police Cop and being leaned on by the racist Chief. The plot takes Jimmy on a madcap adventure from America to Mexico, and his destiny isn’t looking good thanks to the scary ex-cop Juanita Gonzalez.

The show features a bigger ensemble and all the beloved original songs that make everyone laugh themselves out of their seats. The physical comedy is just brilliant. This is their most ambitious show yet, so get your laughing gear ready and prepare to be creased up.

The music is by Ben Adams, and the book and lyrics come from Zachary Hunt, Nathan Parkinson, and Tom Roe. The show is Choreography by Matt Cole. The Musical Director is Gabriel Chernick, Musical Supervision, Arrangements and Orchestrations are by Rich Morris and the Set and lighting by Andrew Exeter. The Sound comes from Charlie Smith and the Casting is by Pearson Casting.
