Onegin in London
Set to Tchaikovsky's soaring music, Alexander Pushkin's verse novel Eugene Onegin has been transformed into a sumptuous ballet, choreographed by John Cranko. Onegin's exploration of unrequited affection, impulsive choices and bitter regrets heads to the main stage at the Royal Opera House in 2025.
Onegin - The Story
The story revolves around the aristocratic and aloof Onegin, who regrets the love of the young and passionate Tatiana. Years later, after a life of indifference and missed opportunities, Onegin realises he loves Tatiana, who is now married to another man. Despite his desperate plea, she refuses him, leaving Onegin to face the consequences of his choices. Onegin will take audiences on a poignant exploration of love, loss and the impact of personal decisions.

The creative team includes choreography by John Cranko, music by Kurt-Heinz Stolze after Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky, design by Jürgen Roseand lighting design by Steen Bjarke.
