When Top Hat opened at the Aldwych Theatre last year, it brought Irving Berlin's greatest songs and the timeless glamour of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers to the West End. It won three Olivier Awards including Best New Musical, but now this show's glorious run is coming to an end – it closes on 26 October. So, as Top Hat tails off, grab your chance to see it while you can, at a great discount price.
What's the deal?
Top price seats for Top Hat are £67.50 at face value. But if you book by Friday, they're just from £32.50 in our 48hr sale.†
What's the show about?
Top Hat was Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers' defining moment, and RKO Pictures' top-grossing film of the 1930s. Its knockout coupling of screwball comedy and escapist fantasy have ensured its place in the roster of all-time great musicals.
Retaining the film's opulent 1930s setting, Top Hat on stage is an airy fable that follows American dance sensation Jerry Travers to London, where he's about to star in a show.
By chance he meets and falls head-over-tails for lovely fellow dancer Dale Tremont - but a case of mistaken identity ensures that the course of their love runs anything but smooth.
Why should I see it?
Gavin Lee and Kristen Beth Williams have big tap shoes to fill in Fred and Ginger's roles of Jerry Travers and his would-be sweetheart Dale Tremont. But fill them they do - and brilliantly.
Add timeless Irving Berlin songs including Top Hat, White Tie and Tails and Cheek to Cheek and it adds up to a heavenly, heartwarming night out that'll send you home with a spring in your step.
