The Score will head to the Theatre Royal Haymarket from next February for a limited run.

Legendary stage and screen actor Brian Cox (Succession, HBO) will star as Johann Sebastian Bach in The Score, where he will be joined by Nicole Ansari-Cox (Rock'n'Roll, Royal Court/Broadway) who will play Bach's wife Anna.

Written by Oliver Cotton and directed by Trevor Nunn, The Score is set in Spring 1747 in Potsdam, Prussia. The show follows Johann Sebastian Bach who reluctantly visits the court of Frederick II, Europe's most ambitious and dangerous leader. While Frederick revels in war and atheism, he admires Bach's musical genius and presents him with a tricky musical challenge. The unexpected events that unfold over the next few days catch both men by surprise.

The creative team includes Set and Costume Designer Robert Jones, Lighting Designer Johanna Town, Sound Designer and Additional Compositions by Sophie Cotton, Associate Director Cordelia Monsey and Casting Director Ginny Schiller CDG.

The full cast will be announced soon.

The Score will play at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 20 February to 26 April 2025.
