The cast has been announced for The Cabinet Minister which begins performances at the Menier Chocolate Factory on 21 September.
Directed by Paul Foster, joining the previously announced Nancy Carroll is George Blagden (Tartuffe, Theatre Royal Haymarket) as Valentine White, Joe Edgar (Just For One Day, Old Vic) as Brook Twombley, Phoebe Fildes (Assassins, Nottingham Playhouse and Watermill Theatre) as Miss Fanny Lacklustre, Rosalind Ford (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Southwark Playhouse) as Imogen Twombley, Dom Hodson (Bleak Expectations, Criterion Theatre and Watermill Theatre) as Kirth, Lord Drumdurris, Dillie Keane (A Little Night Music, Watermill Theatre) as Lady Macphail, Nicholas Rowe (Minority Report, Lyric Hammersmith) as Right Hon Sir Julian Twombley, Laurence Ubong Williams (The Watsons, Menier Chocolate Factory) as Mr Bernard Lacklustre and Mr Melting, Romaya Weaver (professional stage debut) as Lady Effie Vibart and Matthew Woodyatt (A Song of Songs, Park Theatre) as Sir Colin Macphail of Ballocheevin.
The Cabinet Minister is a comedic play that takes on the British political and social elite of the late 19th century. Arthur Wing Pinero's breathless farce will be given a new life by Nancy Carroll this Autumn with its sparkling story of marriage, blackmail and class where all bets are off.
The Cabinet Minister will run between 21 September - 16 November 2024. The production follows the revival of The Baker's Wife which is currently playing at the Menier Chocolate Factory until 14 September.
