Vincent and Flavia Tango back into the West End, for one last time

The Last Tango A big problem faced by TV celebrities is how to make best use of their fame when the on screen work dries up.

Two people who have made a great job of building on public adulation to branch out in their careers are Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace. They were hugely popular dancers in early seasons of STRICTLY COME DANCING and since leaving the show they have created three popular stage shows.

Along with producer Adam Spiegel and choreographer Karen Bruce they’ve developed an exciting new way of presenting ball room dance by using it to tell stories. Their previous productions MIDNIGHT TANGO, and especially DANCE ‘TILL DAWN they have woven tango into narrative attracting a whole new dance audience. In MIDNIGHT TANGO they created a fable from the classic days of Hollywood. Dotting about from the twenties to the fifties they captured all the drama and passion of two old-school movie stars blackmailed within the tinsel town studio system.

Their new piece THE LAST TANGO sounds a little more melancholy. Not only have they made a feature of it being their last ever show together but it’s described as “A reflection of life and love, The Last Tango follows George as he delves into an attic full of memories. As he reminisces, poignant moments are brought to life through sparkling and intricate choreography

Their shows have always proved immensely popular in tours of the UK but it’s fair to say the critics have been rather distaining when their work has hit the West End. Never the less they regularly enjoy full houses, such is the affection in which they’re held by the public, and an Olivier nomination followed.

Speaking about this latest collaboration and their 33 week tour Flavia said; “We have had such a fantastic time on tour with The Last Tango and we feel incredibly lucky to have performed live in front of amazing audiences night after night. The Last Tango is an intimate, emotional show; full of the most beautiful dance moves and, of course, our award-winning Argentine tango. We’re looking forward to celebrating our very best work in the West End.” And Vincent added “The last few years creating and performing and The Last Tango have been intense! It may be our final theatre show but we’re going out with a bang! I’m so happy audiences in London get to see our best show yet!

Having seen their previous two shows I’d recommend early booking for this one. The award winning duos combination of spectacular choreography and poignant story telling will guarantee you an undemanding night of great music, dance and audience engagement.
