SOMETHING ROTTEN! to get UK premiere in concert production

The hit Broadway musical comedy will be staged in concert in London this summer!

Something Rotten! is finally having its UK premiere at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane this summer on the 5 and 6 August.

The musical was originally scheduled to have its UK premiere at Birmingham Rep in 2020 in a full scale production, but it was postponed due to the pandemic.

Directed by Tim Jackson (Two Strangers (carry a cake across New York)), Something Rotten! will star Jason Manford (The Wizard of Oz) as Nick Bottom. The full Broadway score is performed by the London Musical Theatre Orchestra, conducted by Freddie Tapner (Love Never Dies).

What is Something Rotten about?

Something Rotten! is written by John O’Farrell and Karey Kirkpatrick with music and lyrics by Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick.

The hilarious Broadway musical is set in the Renaissance era. It follows the Bottom brothers, Nick and Nigel, as they try to compete with Shakespeare by creating the world's first musical. Filled with witty humour, catchy songs, and clever references to famous musicals and plays, Something Rotten! is a must-see for theatre lovers.
