Duncan Macmillan and Thomas Ostermeier's new version of Chekhov's masterpiece is playing a limited 6-week run at the Barbican Theatre.

Starring alongside Blanchett are Tom Burke, Paul Bazely, Priyanga Burford, Emma Corrin, Zachary Hart, Paul Higgins, Tanya Reynolds, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Jason Watkins.
Written back in 1895, The Seagull explores themes of human longing, artistic ambition, and emotion complexity. It centres on the young writer Konstantin Treplev, his famous actress mother, and the aspiring actress Nina, whose ambitions and emotions lead to heartbreak.
The production plays at the Barbican Theatre until 5 April 2025.
