Full casting for Michael Grandage’s production of Neil Barlett’s new version of Orlando, the classic novel by Virginia Woolf, has been announced, and we’re in for a treat. We’ve already announced Emma Corrin in the lead role, and we know Michael Grandage directs, reunited with the actress after their remarkable collaboration on the Amazon feature film My Policeman. The production kicks off at the Garrick on 26th November.
Who’s involved in Orlando
Born in the reign of Elizabeth 1st, our hero-heroine Orlando explores five centuries and experiences all sorts of extraordinary encounters in search of answers to the ancient question: how do any of us find the courage to truly be ourselves? About the Garrick Theatre
The plot of land the Garrick Theatre is on used to sit on top of a forgotten underground river. It caused all sorts of issues while the venue was being built back in the 1890s. These days it’s owned by Nica Burns and Max Weitzenhoffer, a member of the respected Nimax Theatres group. Past shows at the Garrick Theatre include An Inspector Calls, Rock of Ages, Death Drop and The Drifters Girl with Beverley Knight.
