Grab a wide-brimmed hat and a glass of something chilled, lean back, and get ready to soak up the Summer Season at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
This year, this annual highlight of London’s cultural summer is better than ever. After acclaimed runs of To Kill a Mockingbird and a sold-out Pride and Prejudice, the season continues with The Sound Of Music and family shows Dinosaur Zoo and Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale (for kids).
That's three irresistible reasons to head for the heart of London's most beautiful park and bask in pure theatrical sunshine.
The Winter’s Tale re-imagined for ages 6 and over | 29 June - 20 July
Kezrena James stars as Perdita, the lost princess raised by a shepherd, who secretly romances a prince. Your kids will love the wild beast, magic statue and audience participation in this fun packed Shakespeare adaptation.
The Sound Of Music | 25 July - 7 September
The rolling lawns of Regent’s Park are a fine substitute for the echoing hills of Switzerland, to where the Von Trapp family escape from WWII Austria and find love and the joy of music. Charlotte Wakefield is Maria and Michael Xavier Captain Von Trapp in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s solid-gold musical classic.
Dinosaur Zoo | 9 August - 8 September
Direct from Australia, Dinosaur Zoo brings every child's favourite awesome prehistoric creatures to the stage - as they've never seen them before. Incredibly realistic puppetry entrances young ones, who get the chance to get up close and personal with them on the picnic lawn before they leave.
