Mark Takeshi Ota (My Neighbour Totoro, RSC) as Takashi, Susan Momoko Hingley (The Garden of Words, Park Theatre) as Narumi and Jay Faisca as The Man (voiceover only) will star in the world premiere. One Small Step alongside Tattooer will bring a season of new UK-Japan collaboration projects to London. The plays feature up-and-coming Japanese writers and directors, produced by Umeda Arts Theater.
The play is written and directed by Takuya Kato, and translated by Andrew Eglinton and Mika Eglinton.
The story centres on Takashi and Marumi, a married couple employed by a major contractor involved in a project to relocate humans to the Moon, where a city is being built to offer humanity a fresh start. However, their plans take an unforeseen turn when they face an unexpected setback...
One Small Step will run at the Charing Cross Theatre from 27 September - 9th October 2024.
