Production images released of OEDIPUS at Wyndham's Theatre

The new adaptation created by Robert Icke after Sophocles is playing a limited run in the West End until early next year.

Here's a look at Oedipus which stars Mark Strong in the titular role and Lesley Manville as Jocasta.

Set during election night, the polls predict a landslide victory but everything is about to change. Oedipus has been transformed into an essential, explosive human thriller that has been hailed by critics as "Brilliant" (The Telegraph).

The reimagining of the Ancient Greek tragedy cast includes Samuel Brewer (Teiresias), Michael Gould (Creon), Sara Hazemi (Lichas/Understudy Antigone), Gary McDonald (Driver), Bhasker Patel (Corin), Phia Saban (Antigone), Jordan Scowen (Eteocles), June Watson (Merope)and James Wilbraham (Polyneices), with Jim Creighton (Ensemble/Understudy Oedipus & Creon), Derek Elroy (Ensemble/Understudy Corin, Teiresias & Driver), Celia Nelson (Ensemble/ Understudy Jocasta & Merope)and Jake Rory (Ensemble/Understudy Polyneices, Eteocles & Lichas).

The creative team is Hildegard Bechtler (Set Design), Wojciech Dziedzic (Costume Design), Natasha Chivers (Lighting Design), Tom Gibbons (Sound Design), Tal Yarden (Video Design) and Julia Horan CDG (Casting Director).

Oedipus is playing at the Wyndham's Theatre until 4 January 2025.
