Theatre Royal Bath Productions is pleased to announce one of the nation’s best-loved comedy plays’ 40th birthday. Congratulations to Noises Off, the multi-award-winning farce by Michael Frayn, a deliciously silly comedy dating back to 1982. This special production stars the delightful Felicity Kendal. Directed by Lindsay Posner, the show opens in Bath then takes to the road to theatres in Richmond, Brighton, and Cambridge.
Who’s involved in Noises Off?
This is a very British comedy. Noises Off follows a touring theatre company as they bumble their way through a farce called Nothing On. The final rehearsals are a shambles. The opening night is a disaster. The matinee, in Ashton-Under-Lyme, is utterly hilarious, and the final dazzling nightmare of a performance, in Stockton-On-Tees, is described as ‘brilliantly catastrophic’. Will the show eventually land in the West End? It wouldn’t be a surprise.
