A new production of George Bernard Shaw's Mrs. Warren's Profession will open at the Garrick Theatre on 10 May.
Dominic Cook will direct it, which will reunite him with Staunton after their previous work on Hello, Dolly! and Follies. Imelda Staunton will play Mrs. Kitty Warren, and Bessie Carter will play Vivie Warren.
The play centres on the complex relationship between Mrs. Warren, who has built a fortune through her involvement in a brothel business, and her daughter, Vivie, who grapples with the revelation of her mother's past. It critiques societal double standards and examines the limited economic opportunities available to women in Victorian England.
Cook will be joined on the creative team by designer Chloe Lamford and casting is by Amy Ball CDG.
Mrs. Warren's Profession will play at the Garrick Theatre from 10 May - 16 August 2025.
