Based on the life of American LGBTQ+ activist, I AM HARVEY MILK will perform at the Cadogan Hall on Sunday 27 October for two performances.
Joel Harper-Jackson (Standing at the Sky's Edge) and Sierra Boggess (Phantom of the Opera) will lead a 50 strong choir and 26-piece orchestra. The European premiere concerts will be raising money for LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall.
Known as the first openly gay man elected to public office in California, Harvey Milk served on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in the late 1970s until his assassination. He championed anti-discrimination laws, affordable housing, and equal rights, while giving a powerful voice to marginalised communities.
Written by Andrew Lippa (Big Fish), I AM HARVEY MILK will weave the story of his life, honouring his work and the lasting impact his work has had.
Joining Andrew on the creative team for I Am Harvey Milk are Director Kirk Jameson (Buyer and Cellar), Musical Director Jonathan Gill and Movement Director Khiley Williams.
I AM HARVEY MILK will perform at the Cadogan Hall on 27 October at 2.30pm and 6.30pm.
