The London premiere of Going For Gold is heading to Park Theatre.

Written by Lisa Lintott, the play is inspired by the true, little-known story of boxer Frankie Lucas, a young Black boxer. Set in 1970s London, Going For Gold follows Frankie as he is destined to represent Great Britain at the 1974 Commonwealth Games, but when he's overlooked, he competes for Saint Vincent, winning Gold and defeating the man chosen in his place. But outside the ring, the play explores the even greater challenges he faces with the complex politics of boxing, his personal ambitions, and the needs of his family.

Directed by Philip J Morris and Xanthus, the cast compromises of Llewella Gideon with Nigel Boyle, Jazz Lintott, Daniel Francis-Swaby, Cyril Blake and alternate Tinashe Darikwa.

The creative team includes Lisa Lintott and Jazz Lintott as producers, Frank Skully and Bel Clarke as associate producers, Harry Gilbert as casting director, Tian Glasgow and Hannah Moore as production managers, Erin Guan as production designer, Cheng Keng as lighting and video designer, Lo-Wu as sound designer, David Gilbert as movement director, Reuben Bojang as technical stage manager, Shereen Hamilton as assistant stage manager, Andrew Macdonald as videographer, Darce Bracey as creative director, Rupert Charmak as fight choreographer and Joel Trill as dialect coach.

Going For Gold will play at the Park Theatre from 6 - 30 November 2024.
