What is HANSEL AND GRETEL about?
HANSEL AND GRETEL, The Brothers Grimm fairy tale, is being presented in a beautifully epic new version at the Shakespeare Globe this Christmas.
The boy and girl, HANSEL AND GRETEL live with their mum, a bread maker, and their dad, a woodcutter, in a war-torn village. The only chance they have to provide their children with a safer life is to lead and leave them in the woods. Now left to fend for themselves, the children's plan to find their way home get side-tracked, by a trail of treats too good to resist and a strange woman with a plan of her own.
The production will be filled with music, magic, songs, and a sprinkling of hope. HANSEL AND GRETEL is the perfect treat this Christmas for everyone aged 5+.
