About the Adelphi Theatre
The Adelphi Theatre is a venue with many names. In 1806 it was the Sans Pareil, in 1844 the Adelphi, in 1858 the New Adelphi, in 1901 the Century Theatre, in 1930 the Royal Adelphi. Now it’s the Adelphi, plain and simple. Past shows at the Adelphi Theatre include an infamous early 1800s melodrama called the Adelphi Screamers, along with Charles Dickens stories adapted for the stage and comic shows.
