What's the show about?
World-famous singer Rachel Marron has all the hallmarks of a true superstar – serious talent, exceptional beauty, and an ego to match. When an unseen stalker threatens her life, Rachel's manager insists on hiring former Presidential bodyguard Frank Farmer to protect her.
She hates the idea and can't stand Frank, whom she dismisses as a paranoid pest –until he saves her from rioting fans at a concert.
The ice melts and love starts to blossom between the unlikely pair. But will Frank be able to save her from death at the hands of her mysterious would-be assassin?
Why should I see it?
Legend Beverley Knight is now making her West End debut as Rachel Marron. Three times nominated for Best Female at the Brit Awards and twice nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, she's sold over a million albums in the UK since releasing her debut album in 1995.
Also new to The Bodyguard is Tristan Gemmill. Best-known as Casualty's Dr Adam Trueman, here he brings restrained power to the role of Rachel's sworn protector Frank Farmer.
And then there are the stupendous songs. Expect show-stopping renditions of I Will Always Love You, I'm Every Woman, How Will I Know, So Emotional and a host of other unforgettable classics.
