About the Adelphi Theatre
The Adelphi Theatre was founded way back in 1806, originally called the Sans Pareil (without compare). It was owned by the merchant John Scott and his daughter Jane. Jane was an unusual woman, being a theatre manager, performer, and playwright. Past shows at the Adelphi Theatre include Evita, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Bumblescratch, Chicago, and Waitress.
