ABBA, and pop music like it, were never a big part of my childhood (in my household Mozart was considered avant garde, it’s a long story, I’ll tell you another time). But Mamma Mia has existed in the London theatresphere since the previous millennium, and, with the show reopening this week after a long pandemic-shaped hiatus, I went along to see what the big deal was.

It was a glittering affair! On 13th September guests and celebrities celebrated the opening night of BACK TO THE FUTURE The Musical at the Adelphi Theatre. The pre-show drinks reception took place at the Corinthia hotel and the guest list was seriously impressive. The creators of the Back to the Future film trilogy, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, were there, along with the original Doctor Emmett Brown, Christopher Lloyd, plus Andy Serkis, Lorraine Ashbourne, Tracey Ullman and Caroline Quentin. Update for The Book Of Mormon at the Prince of Wales Theatre
A hugely popular smash-hit musical written by comedy geniuses Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Robert Lopez, The Book of Mormon returns to its home at the West End’s Prince of Wales Theatre to carry on its legendary seven year sell-out run. The fun kicks off on 15th November, the full cast has been confirmed, and the cast will perform for the first time at ‘West End Live’ in Trafalgar Square on 18th September.
