It's week four of lock down now. Of course we're all inconvenienced and making sacrifices but if you work in the theatre industry there's the particular challenge of working out what to do to keep your career and income on track when there's no guarantee when venues will be open again.
I'm finding this especially frustrating as last year I wrote a new musical, MRS EINSTEIN.

The West End’s sumptuous, romantic, multi-award winning, and longest running hit Phantom of The Opera has announced that post Covid performances will begin on June 5th at Her Majesty's Theatre.
Great news because, infused with a whirl of big sweeping melodies by our greatest living composer, it's a gorgeous looking production immaculately maintained at the highest level.

The West End has been a particularly gloomy place over the last few week as London was plunged into tier 4 of the government's Covid regulations and then a lockdown, designed to stop the spread of the virus by restricting personal contact in public spaces.

Critics and audiences loved this play by Tom Stoppard when it opened in February and it looked set to be a massive long-running hit. Well, we’re going to find out because a new post-Covid revival has recently been announced at Wyndham's Theatre. There’s still a huge public appetite to see this poignant family drama set in the Leopoldstadt Jewish Ghetto of 1900 Vienna, so we recommend booking your Leopoldstadt tickets early.
