Review: SAVING JASON at the Park Theatre

Saving Jason Peter Quilter’s enthusiastically received new play SAVING JASON certainly gave me a lot to think about.

The play is centred around a family who can no longer tolerate their son Jason's hedonistic lifestyle of raves and ecstasy. The course of action they believe to be the most prudent is to stage a fake funeral for Jason and show him his potentially bleak future if he doesn’t cease his self-destructive ways. In attendance are his parents, his aunt and uncle and a friendly older woman who lives down the road.

Review: TORN APART at Theatre N16

Torn Apart Torn Apart is the story of three relationships, in three generations, in three beds. All of which have the sword of Damocles hanging overhead. We are invited to observe as these couples move from happy, sometimes orgasmic, bliss to much darker places. Along the way we discover the couples connections, which are not just situational. Sex is used as a visual representation of the dynamic of each relationship and this is incredibly effective.

We follow Charlie who has inherited a failing shoe factory from his late father. His only financial recourse is to find a new niche market to cater to. His life is then changed forever after an altercation with a drag queen called Lola.

Review: BIG SHOT at The London Irish Centre

Big Shot the Musical Big Shot won the “Spirit of the festival” award at the San Diego International Fringe Festival last year. We follow the story of Jeremy Crocker, a successful defense lawyer in New York City. Crocker falls in love with Carrie, an Irish artist who works in Crocker’s usual coffee stop. As they spend more time with each other there is a revelation that Carrie is very closely related to Croker’s new defence case.
