After years of war, an idyllic Italian town is finally back in bloom. But Young lovers Claudio and Hero, and sparring singletons Beatrice and Benedick, soon discover that all is not as it seems in their beautiful surrounds as they become entangled in a series of mischievous games, pranks and plots.
Globe Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes (The Winter’s Tale, ★★★★★ ‘A triumph’ The Telegraph) directs this Elizabethan-dress production.

A wonderful experienceI attended the show with my teenage son who had only ever read Shakespeare at school. We both were blown away with the acting and spectacle. We have not laughed as much in ages and felt totally immersed in the show.

Shakespeare at its most exuberant.What a treat to be entertained in prose in such a beautiful setting. If you enjoy Shakespeare / do not miss it. If you don’t know Shakespeare well, it’ll be a wonderful experience. Seats are rather uncomfortable with no back (unless you’re at the back) but that’s part of the experience of the then Globe Theatre.
