Manhunt in London
Are you ready for something scary, raw, super-dramatic... and true? Prepare for Manhunt. Robert Icke, known for his work on Player Kings, directs the world premiere of his thrilling new play at the Royal Court Theatre. Relive the horror of an event that shocked the nation when it opens in Spring 2025.
Manhunt - the story
Imagine rolling back time to July 1, 2010, when a man named Raoul Moat was released from Durham Prison. Over the next few horrifying days, Moat caused chaos, leaving one man dead, a police officer blind, and a woman fighting for her life. It took the UK's largest-ever manhunt to put an end to the turmoil, which concluded only when Moat took his own life.
About Manhunt
Award-winning writer and director Robert Icke has created a truly chilling and eerie portrait of Moat (played by Samuel Edward Cook), following the days after his release when he was pursued by the police around Northumberland in a story that terrified the UK. An ITV TV series called The Hunt For Raoul Moat was screened in 2023, and there was also a book by Newcastle journalist Andrew Hankinson called You Could Do Something Amazing with Your Life [You Are Raoul Moat].
Manhunt will offer audiences an unwavering look at the state of the British criminal justice system, with a production that will certainly pack a punch and thought-provoking experience for audiences - this is a world premiere you won't want to miss.
