The Little Prince in London
It sold out and stole hearts in Paris, Sydney and Dubai, and it absolutely aced its Broadway season. Now The Little Prince, one of the best-selling and most frequently translated novels in the world, is in the capital for its magical UK premiere.
The Little Prince the story
This is a deceivingly simple tale. Behind the simplicity there's a wealth of allegories, which makes it perfect for people of every age.
You'll discover the story of a little boy, a prince, who travels the universe in search of wisdom. The story has been interpreted in countless different ways over the years thanks to its themes of love, friendship and the human condition. The prince's adventures to different planets are actually a lovely metaphor for life's great journey, and the characters each represent different human traits. Expect delightful and you won't be disappointed.
About The Little Prince
This production celebrates the 80th birthday of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s beloved story. It has sold more than 200 million copies worldwide, now it's unfolding on stage in a thrilling new live production featuring dance, aerial acrobatics, and ground-breaking video mapping tech, all of which brings the classic tale to sparkling life.
Fall in love with a constellation of exciting characters and vivid costumes, whisking you away to a vibrant universe where anything can happen. No wonder the original book is one of the best-selling novels ever written, translated into more than 500 languages and dialects and the second-most translated work on earth, only beaten by the bible. Adapted over time for radio, film, TV, opera and ballet, it remains a firm international favourite.
As the author's great nephew says, this is more than a show. It is an “homage to the wonder of childhood, echoing the innocence and wisdom Saint-Exupéry so beautifully captured.” A tribute to the eternal child inside each of us, it invites us to rediscover the dreams we've forgotten and gaze at the stars with fresh wonder.
The Little Prince creatives
The libretto adapter and co-director is Chris Mouron, the composer Terry Truck, and the video designer Marie Jumelin. Hair and makeup are by Carmen Arbues Miro, with video projection by Etienne Beaussart and props by Aurélie Gandilhon.
Don’t miss the spectacular new stage adaptation of French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s beautiful allegorical story, this time around performed in French with English subtitles.

Il Piccole PrincipeAs a couple that have both enjoyed the book and the animated movie this was a very different adaptation! It's difficult since we've never attended a ballet before and this potentially wasn't our favourite medium but the lighting was beautiful, the dancers/costumes looked fantastic, the acrobatics impressive and the singing from the narrator towards the end was most definitely a highlight! It may not have been helped by the fact the dialogue was in French but having the subtitles above the screen was a very good idea (though maybe meant looking away from the performance more than we would like). For the money we paid it was a brilliant day out and a good excuse to go London!

MagicGreat show. It brought out the essence of The Little Prince. Best for people who know the themes and ideas of the story, but still soectacular if you don't.

StunningThe dancers and acrobatic artists were beautiful. I was in awe watching. The choreography was lovely, as was the use of props. The music aided the story and I was mesmerised the whole time. Thank you.
