King of Pangea - the story

On the magical imaginary island of Pangea the sun never sets. The band always keeps the beat going, and the precious people you've loved and lost are never that far away. When he finds out he's about to lose his optimistic mum, 21 year old Christopher Crow escapes to Pangea, the refuge he dreamed up as a child. Guided by an eccentric prophet, a brave captain and a creative poetic dreamer, the adventure he goes on helps Christopher reclaim himself and rebuild his world. Will he find the closure he's so desperate for after his mum's loss smashes his world to pieces?

About King of Pangea

Originally a singer-songwriter, Martin Storrow has always adored songs and stories with honesty, humour and heart. It's good to know this lovely musical has roots in the writer's authentic experiences, adding extra texture and power to a story that is already unusually moving.

The show was first staged in 2024 in Oklahoma and then premiered in Atlanta the following year. Now directed at the King's Head Theatre by Richard Israel, this highly original, soul-stirring folk show celebrates the joyful healing power of hope, a transformative tale where the imaginary and real blur to take us to the place where love, loss and resilience collide.
