Starring:
Dawn French, Julian Clary, Nigel Havers, Paul Zerdin, Gary Wilmot
The festive season is always spectacular fun in theatreland and Xmas 2022 is set to be no exception. Welcome to what is going to be the most fun, most outrageous, most colourful panto in town. This is Jack and the Beanstalk, a classic story told in a fresh new way at London's premier pantomime venue, the London Palladium. Come on, kids!
So who is involved in this fresh production, designed to delight every child in the nation along with their parents? Your Director is Michael Harrison. The cast list so far includes Julian Clary, Paul Zerdin, Nigel Havers, Gary Wilmot, and Dawn French. The Design is by Mark Walters and the Costumes by Hugh Durran. The Choreography comes from Karen Bruce and the Lighting is by Ben Cracknell. Gareth Owen is responsible for the sound.
This cool new Christmas comedy involves TV and stage superstars Dawn French and Julian Clary as they lead the cast of a brand-new production of Jack and the Beanstalk at London's iconic home of pantomime. This great new West End panto delivers a lavish set and beautiful costumes, and it's due to be London's biggest panto for the festive season. The fun kicks off on the 10th December 2022 for a five week run.
We have some cool hints about what's on the cards. Apparently there's going to be a huge animatronic giant, just one of the remarkable features of a £2 million production. If you're looking for a great way to celebrate Christmas, this is it.
What's the plot of Jack and the Beanstalk?
Jack and his mum live in the forest. When their cow stops making milk they decide to sell her. Off Jack goes to the market. On the way he meets a man who claims to sell magic beans, so he sells the cow for a handful of them. Jack's mum is furious. She throws the beans out of the window. Overnight one of them grows into a huge beanstalk. Jack climbs it, discovers a giant's castle, and his extraordinary adventure begins. By the end of it, they'll be rich.
Who is Jack and the Beanstalk for?
This panto is designed for kids of five years old and above.

Colourful and witty final performanceWe have become seasoned panto attendees. Julian was brilliant as ever and Alexander Burke as good this year as Donny Osmond was last. Simon's jokes were repeats of last year, very noticably in places (a bit disappointing). Very enjoyable and we will be booking again soon for Panto 23. Dawn French was a good addition but Julian is funnier!!
