Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors in London
Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors is frighteningly funny! Bram Stoker’s 1897 horror classic has been given a comedy facelift to deliver a super-fast, gender-bending show starring a Gen Z pansexual Count Dracula who doesn't know whether he's coming or going. Great fun.
This is what happens when Dracula suffers an existential crisis. A cast of five actors constantly changes costumes and roles in an hour and a half's worth of classic send-up that messes with gender norms in the style of Charles Ludlam, Monty Python and Mel Brooks. It's a bawdy, gothy, campy extravaganza, not to be missed, and you'll scream with laughter at this wonderfully silly UK premiere.
Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors - the story
Audiences are whisked away into the craggy mountains of Transylvania where meek estate agent Jonathan Harker meets a new and mysterious client … who just happens to be the nightmare to end all nightmares, Count Dracula himself.
When the Count decides he fancies Harker’s fiancé, scientist Lucy Westfeldt, he meets his match for the first time in history. Vampire hunter Jean Van Helsing, insect expert Renfield and behavioural psychiatrist Wallace Westfeldt all join the fray in this pitch-perfect chunk of horror-inspired fun to sink your fangs into.
