Derren Brown: Miracle in London
Derren Brown adores stage work, and his passion shines through. You can't beat seeing him in a theatrical setting in all his entertaining glory, delivering his infamous style of dark, fascinating mind control. This is his seventh show since 2003 and it's set to cram the theatre to bursting point over the festive season.
Brown tours every year and thousands of us flock to experience his remarkable brand of non-magic. Famously sceptical about everything from religion to parapsychology, it's his job to debunk charlatans and reveal how things like body language, suggestion, hypnotism and illusions can make us think we're experiencing something very strange indeed. And we are. But Brown's work is even more fascinating than 'magic' could ever hope to be, revealing how susceptible humans are, more or less hard-wired - according to scientists - to believe in mysterious forces beyond our understanding.
Derren Brown has won two Olivier Awards, one for Something Wicked This Way Comes in 2006, the title taken from a book by American fantasy author Ray Bradbury, and one for his epic show Svengali in 2012. Infamous was acclaimed by critics and adored by huge audiences. Miracle follows in its wake, and the anticipation is already growing.
The magnificent Palace Theatre is your venue if you'd love to experience this artist, author, multi-talented illusionist, mentalist and hypnotist live in action. If you want to be amazed and intrigued you can't go wrong – expect a truly exceptional piece of showmanship and you won't be disappointed.
Derren Brown Miracle – The story
A remarkably clever combination of suggestion, psychology, misdirection, body language and subliminal influences blend with Derren Brown's gifted showmanship to astonish audiences.
The word on the streets is this show focuses on the philosophical: can you learn to think in ways that make you feel happier? You bet you can, with Brown in the driving seat. According to the What's on Stage website, Brown describes Miracle like this:
"More than any other show it's been an extraordinary voyage. Some of its braver aspects not only work but seem to work unsettlingly well. In some ways it's the boldest, most contentious show yet”.
This comes from a man who is consistently bold and contentious, which makes it a promise you really can't resist. We'll see you there!

Such a shameI really like Derren Brown, and some of his stuff was breath taking. But the majority was rambling and lost. I won't spoil it but the best parts were the smaller things, the classic stuff. The second half of the show could have been good if the audience had time to process what was going on instead of rattling on to the next thing. Some of this is good but a bit too much waffle

Review: DERREN BROWN - MIRACLE at the Palace Theatre
by Davor Golub | Friday, November 20 2015, 16:26
Having enjoyed Mentalist, Derren Brown’s TV shows for years I was, I must admit, quite excited to have the opportunity to finally see him live on stage. It is therefore a pleasure to report that his new show, MIRACLE, at the Palace Theatre for the next ten weeks, is chock full of the kind of jaw dropping tricks audiences have come to expect from Brown. Over and over throughout this slickly written and directed show you just keep thinking, “I know it’s a trick, but HOW DOES HE DO IT?”
