Christmas Carol Goes Wrong in London
Are you ready for a generous helping of ridiculousness seasoned with plenty of silliness? A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong premieres at the West End’s Apollo Theatre for the festive season after a UK tour, crafted by the hilarious Olivier Award-winners at Mischief Theatre.
What is Christmas Carol Goes Wrong about?
It's the ill-fated Cornley Amateur Drama Society again, back with good tidings of chaos and mayhem, about to dive into a new play: Charles Dickens’ classic festive treat A Christmas Carol. But a series of hilarious problems dog the production from the start as the Cornley crew tries and fails to avoid miscommunications, delays, missing actors and a fierce fight over who is going to play the lead role. The results is, as you'd expect, utterly disastrous as the much-loved Christmas story of Ebeneezer Scrooge is mashed, mangled and more or less destroyed. Dickens would laugh his head off, and so will you!
About Christmas Carol Goes Wrong
Best known for their smash hits The Play That Goes Wrong and Peter Pan Goes Wrong, this stage production follows on from a beloved TV special of the same name, which took the BBC by storm in December 2017 and is available on BBC iPlayer. Mischief Theatre’s acclaimed The Play That Goes Wrong is still enjoying a record-breaking season at London's Duchess Theatre as well as extending once more off-Broadway, proof that the laughs never end whenever there's Mischief in the air.
Written by original Mischief team members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Sheilds, A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong is a laugh-out-loud comedy that transforms the beloved holiday classic into a chaotic disaster filled with mishaps and mayhem. With brilliant physical comedy and unexpected twists, it's the perfect festive treat that will have you in stitches from start to finish.
