Austentatious in London
Since its debut performance in London in 2011 and then the Edinburgh Fringe a year later in 2012, Austentatious has taken the stage by storm. This improvised play based on the renowned English writer is a novelty each time you see it, and a wildly happy one at that. Selling out every week in the West End since 2022, Austentatious plays at the Vaudeville Theatre on Mondays throughout 2025.
What is Austentatious about?
Inspired by the author who wrote timeless books like Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and Sense and Sensibility, the audience assists in creating a brand new Jane Austen novel in just 2 hours! Austentatious draws its inspiration from an audience member, and each performance is constructed entirely by them. From this, a company of six will present their tale through improvisation whilst dressed in period dress and accompanied by live music. The award-winning smash hit comedy features numerous stars of TV and radio, including Rachel Parris, Cariad Lloyd, Joseph Morpurgo, and Graham Dickson.
As one of the hottest theatres and a perfect dose of comedy to kick off your week, Austentatious is guaranteed to bring you joy. If you love razor-sharp comedy, which also involves the unpredictability of improvisation, then this is a must-see for you.

Creative and hilariousMy partner and I went to see it, and we loved it! The improv of the actors is funny, and made us laugh throughout the show. I’ll recommend to my parents, and we are going back to watch it again next time we come back to London.
