London's longest-running adaptation of this beloved festive favourite stars John Simm as Ebenezer Scrooge.
A Christmas Carol - The Story
A Christmas Carol follows Ebenezer Scrooge, a greedy old man who despises Christmas and everything it represents. On Christmas Eve, he is visited by three ghosts who show him the impact of his selfishness on not only himself but others. Through his visits to the past, present and future, Scrooge learns the importance of generosity, compassion, and the true spirit of Christmas.
About A Christmas Carol
Since its debut in 2017, The Old Vic's production of A Christmas Carol has become a beloved fixture in the theatre's annual calendar. Known for its distinctive staging, this adaptation offers an immersive experience, where audiences are drawn into the heart of the story and might even be treated to a complimentary mince pie or satsuma. Over the years, the production has garnered widespread critical acclaim, with its Broadway version winning five awards at the 2021 Tony Awards.
A Christmas Carol Cast and Creatives
Playing the role of Ebenezer Scrooge will be John Simm, known for his work on the West End production of The Homecoming and the film Everyday.
Directed by Matthew Warchus (Matilda The Musical), the creative team includes Set and Costume by Rob Howell, Composer and Arranger Christopher Nightingale, Lighting Design by Hugh Vanstone, Sound Design by Simon Baker, Movement by Lizzi Gee and Casting by Jessica Ronane CDG.

CleverThoroughly enjoyed this production. It kept to the tale but added some very good tweaked script that readily fitted in with the tale. Cast were excellent very clear and some excellent bell ringing that all in all created a lovely christmassy atmosphere. Definitely recommend this show
