Dreamboats and Petticoats in London
Starring:
Scott Bruton, Sam Attwater
Let Dreamboats and Petticoats rock your world!
Inspired by the runaway hit album Dreamboats and Petticoats, a compilation of classic 60s rock 'n' roll songs, Dreamboats and Petticoats is an enormously popular West End musical fresh from the pens of Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the writers of Birds Of A Feather and Goodnight Sweetheart. The show’ forty two superb and highly evocative tunes, including all time classics Shakin’ All Over and Bobby’s Girl, will take you back to a bygone age and give you a real taste of a golden musical era that’s long gone… but not forgotten.
Dreamboats and Petticoats – The story
Dreamboats And Petticoats is set in 1961, when young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to win a prestigious national song writing competition. At the same time they’re competing for the attention of Sue, who is drop-dead gorgeous and mad about Norman. But when Laura, a shy girl who’s a masterful piano player and crazy about Bobby, catches Bobby’s eye, genuine rock 'n' roll fame is on the cards.
Dreamboats and Petticoats song list
The album on which Dreamboats and Petticoats is based was in the UK Top 40 chart for more than three years, testament to the popularity of the era’s simple but compelling music. A feast of twentieth century nostalgia, this is a high energy musical for all the family, packed with quiffs and polka dots, guitars, circle skirts and pony tails. There’s a real party atmosphere and you’ll experience a huge feel-good factor as the story unfolds. It’s a popular choice with everyone who enjoys the soundtracks from Goodnight Sweetheart, Happy Days and Heartbeat and it’s ideal for musical lovers of every age.
Dreamboats and Petticoats is packed solid with classic ‘60s tunes from well-loved artists like Roy Orbison, Eddie Cochran and Billy Fury. fabolus showThe music was outstanding, and the show itself is a reason as good as any to visit London from sweden or any other country. The story is maybe not what made best impression on me, which the music, acting costumes and lightning did. And all actors looked handsome:-). Except for 2 the actors where very young indeed and acted really good.
